The first credible rumor about a new Xiaomi tablet began to circulate at the end of last year. Since then, there have only been rumors.
However, a new set of possible Xiaomi tablet accessory leaks may provide us with some hints about the next Xiaomi tablet. The China National Intellectual Property Administration has received CAD illustrations (CNIPA).
These 3D illustrations show that the Xiaomi tablet will have pogo pins for connecting with the optional keyboard cover, which is similar to the keyboard covers found on a few tablets currently on the market.
Given the large hole in the cover for the rear camera, we should expect multiple cameras on this tablet, if not additional camera technologies such as Lidar. But we’ll have to wait and see. While Xiaomi has yet to announce or tease any new tablets, they are expected to be unveiled in August.
In terms of cameras, the Mi Pad 5 may have a dual-camera configuration. It will have a 20MP primary sensor and a secondary lens with a resolution of 13MP. The upcoming Xiaomi tablet will have a dual-cell battery with a capacity of 8,720 mAh. Other details about the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 are currently unknown.
